My name is Amy Arend and I've been working for the Winslow School District for 11 years. I attended Northern Arizona University. I have four kids, all who have graduated from Winslow High School. My husband is a Lieutenant with Winslow Police Department and Winslow has been our home for over 21 years.
I teach 3 periods of Senior Economics and have 2 credit recovery Lab Classes.
I love working with the Seniors and am lucky that I get to teach almost every senior at Winslow High School. I really have a passion for helping them get ready to graduate and help them to prepare to leave WHS and enter "the real world".
In my classroom, students also have the opportunity to work on credit recovery through our online learning program, Edgenuity. This is a rigorous program, but the pay off is that students have the opportunity to make up credits and get themselves on track to graduate.
This year, I'm excited to taking on the Career Center and helping students prepare for life after they leave WHS. I will be posting scholarships monthly, and making arrangements for students to talk to College Representatives as well as Military Recruiters. There are many opportunities for students to come by the Career Center and talk with me about where they're going and how I can help them get there.
I am always available to listen and want you to succeed.
