My name is Debbie Brown and I teach Senior Economics and Government using our new online program Edgenuity. I also oversee the Career Center here on campus. Students will find college, career, and scholarship information here in the Career Center. The Career Center is a multi-function classroom. Students can research and receive one-on-one help from myself or work independently.
I am from Corona, California. I moved to Corona around the age of 9 and lived there until I married my husband and we moved to Riverside, Ca. I graduated from Norco Senior High School in 1989 and married in 1990. I attended California State San Bernardino until February 1992, when I had my first child. I have a wonderful, supportive husband and 3 grown children, one grandchild and twin grandchildren due in December of the this year. We moved to Winslow in the fall of 1994. I wish I could say it was love at first sight, however, we have come to love Winslow, and the members of the community and think of this wonderful town as our home. We couldn't have asked for a better place to raise our three children. All of whom are graduates of WHS! We are definitely proud to be Bulldogs through and through!
I began working at the high school in the fall of 2009. I spent my first year as a classroom aide and then the following year was given the opportunity to assist in creating the Career Center. I participate in two different departments here on campus. The Social Studies department and the Counseling Office. I enjoy working with the seniors and watching them blossom into young woman and men as they decide which path they will take after high school.
I have an open door policy and love to meet with parents. I especially encourage you to come by and take a look at the Career Center and see what we have to offer your student. I believe it takes a village to raise a child and I believe that the school, teachers, counselors, administration, students and parents need to have open communication, with the best intentions for the student.
Again, please feel free to stop by anytime. I look forward to working with your student and you!
