Meghan Cox Travel Scholarship
Winslow Scholarship Application
Spring 2024

Meghan Cox, a 1999 Graduate of Winslow High School, attended Arizona State University (ASU), and was a part of Barrett Honors College. Prior to attending ASU, Meghan had never been out of the country. However, her decision to apply for a study abroad program in France marked a pivotal moment in her life. Of all experiences in her life, Meghan has felt that studying abroad proved to be the most impactful moments in her life, from learning a new language to navigating a foreign country at a young age. Meghan thinks it is very important for young adults to travel to foreign countries, and to experience different cultures and to learn from them. Coming from a family that had not previously traveled outside of the United States, Meghan was inspired to provide opportunities for students to explore and learn beyond their borders.
To support this mission, three students will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship, with an ability to renew this scholarship once by the year 2029 for a foreign study abroad program (outside of the United States) at an accredited college/university or an accredited vocational education program.

• Winslow High School seniors, and graduates from within four years prior to the year in which the scholarship will be awarded, may apply for the Meghan Cox Scholarship.

• Applicants for the scholarship must have taken at least two years of a foreign language in school, or the equivalent proficiency by speaking a second language.

• Applicants for the scholarship must be accepted by an accredited college/university or an accredited vocational education program.

• Students who have been informed by the established application deadline that their college or vocational education will be paid in full by means of other scholarships, grants, or other funds, which need not be paid back, may not apply.

• Applications must be submitted to Mr. Barris, Room 102, by the end of the school day on Tuesday April 30th, 2024
