Academic Lab- Edgenuity (Period 4)
Course Description
Hello parents and students,
I want to be sure that you understand, if you or your student are in an academic lab, due to credit recovery, credit recovery still needs to be completed in order to graduate.
IMPORTANT! Because of the new setting of working completely from home during this crazy time, we've made some changes to the Edgenuity program that we hope will help you move along a bit more quickly, with the main goal to still have all of your credit recovery complete by the deadline of May 15th, as set by WHS Administrators earlier this semester. There are two main changes you need to be aware of. The first one is that we have removed the 2 test block for you to get 80%. You will still receive two chances to pass the test with as high a score as possible, but instead of you being locked out and waiting for a teacher to review your work and unlock it, you will be able to move onto the next lesson in the course. THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Since your overall grade is figured by averaging all the scores of all the tests and activities you do, receiving low scores will begin to bring your overall grade down. If when you have completed the entire course, and taken the cumulative exam at the end, your final overall grade is not higher than 59%, you will have Failed the course, and will not get the credit for the work you've done. Ultimately, you will have to take the course again, from the beginning. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you take notes, and do your very best all of your tests and activities. The second main change that you will notice is that the cumulative exam (50 questions) at the end of every class, will now count as 30% of your overall grade. Please, use those good notes that you've taken during the class and do your best.
I am available by email at [email protected] any time, or you can contact me through Edgenuity. My office hours will be from 12:00pm to 1:30pm Monday thru Friday. This means that you will be guaranteed an immediate response during these times. I am here for you and am rooting for you! You can do this! If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. I hope to see you soon, but in the meantime...let’s get it done!
