Hello and Welcome!

Dearest Parents and Students,
I am happy that we will all be back in the classroom to continue our acquisition of obtaining valuable academic knowledge and skills. Let’s continue committing ourselves to putting energy into learning mathematics by coming to class regularly. Use the helpful resources I’ve listed on my teacher page to either review past or current learning, as well as, to challenge yourself with new math topics and concepts you will encounter in next year’s math course. We’ve got to keep activating our brain to think and learn! Always check my teacher page for any updated and/or new information. LET THE ADVENTURE BEGIN!!! See you soon!

Parents and students,
A reminder...all assignments and assessments will always be assigned in Schoology. Students need to be aware of the time limits set for each task...which means the quizzes and tests need to be completed in the classroom and submitted before the end of the class period. Any unfinished quizzes and test need to be completed afterschool on the same day the assessment is given.
Once again... Play hard...math is not a spectator sport.
Remember...
All assignments are worth 18% of your total grade. This might not look like much, but should you start slacking off and not do any assignments...resulting in a low/failing grade, then the 18% does become a bigger issue...because it would have "grown" by then... so to speak. This means you will have to do very well on any quizzes and tests to make improvements. So...do the assignments and complete them on time to pass your math class.

A student may be subject to disciplinary action when the student:

 

Engages in any of the following forms of academic misconduct:

  1. Lateness for, missing, or leaving school or class without permission or excuse.
  2. Cheating (including but not limited to copying, using unauthorized help sheets and the like, illegally obtaining tests in advance, substituting for a test-taker, and other forms of unauthorized collusion).
  3. Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the representation of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one's own original work

Flashcards of Math Problems

So if your math class was a struggle at times then this is another wonderful website to use. This website does not explain how to solve the 7th and 8th grade math skill presented, but it should help you see how we use basic previous math skills in all High School math classes, from Pre-Algebra to Trigonometry.

Math Practice

So we need to keep practicing our math skills! Mathematics has soooo many math skills, concepts, and vocabulary that build on each other and are applied in the next math course to be taken. This website allows you to review and practice with previous and current math classes, as well as, to challenge yourself with new math courses you will taking next year. Also, this website will provide you with 10 free practice problems, then you will have to close and reopen it up again to obtain 10 more free practice problems, and so on. You will never have to login to this website unless you purchase a membership fee...and should you want to do this, it will also provide you unlimited practice problems and other cool features to keep track of your progress. Overall... keep practicing...it will help you in the long run!

For all math classes,
Use the following link to review previous math skills/concepts and/or to challenge yourself with new math skills/concepts that you may encounter when school resumes or for next year's math course you will take to fulfill graduation math requirements. When you open this resource, you will see a list of courses this website offers, so don't get overwhelmed! Instead scroll to where is just says, "Math". Click on this and you can scroll to your specific math course (Pre-Algebra, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and High School Math) and/or you can also challenge yourself with new content by looking at other math courses you will be taking next year. Another course listing you can look into once you've opened the link is "ACT". By clicking on this, you can review examples of math problems (and all subjects) that you will encounter while taking an ACT Test.

Free Website to use...

I just found out that this website is available for free! Another great math website to use...It also contains math games related to the topic of study. It's easy to sign up for it...and don't worry...it won't charge you anything. Its actually listed on the main school's website. Keep working on your math skills...we don't our math skills to regress during this time.
P/S: It only provides guidance and practice for K-8th, and Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry. Check it out....
